V2 and the Rebirth of TEMPO: A message from Paradox

Hello Temporians,

Version 2 of TEMPO is a monumental step forward in reaching the next level in our progression. This signifies a power move towards sustainability, growth, but most importantly, empowering our community.

Thank you to everyone who voted with their hearts to approve the passing of this incredible moment in our history.

To those of you who have been with us since day 1… We thank you for your patience and undying support.

To those of you who have joined us recently… We cannot wait for you to learn more about us, so you can contribute directly to making our vision for Tempo DAO a reality.

Our development team is incredibly excited to be working on this rebirth of TEMPO and to launch and share the results with you…

Until then, Enigma, the rest of the Tempo DAO team and I, will be working on game production, partnerships (several in the works), and planning out our marketing strategy to be ready to hit the ground running.

A big part of this means expanding our team by bringing on new, talented individuals to help us through.

Believe us when we say…

Key Announcements/ Updates

Progress update on V2 token

The work on the V2 version is on track and Decode has been busy with that. There is no fixed ETA on this because there are a few technicalities that need thorough consideration. We aim to complete the contracts and ensure smooth migration shortly. We will write a Medium article explaining the migration process in detail.

Our team is expanding!

We understand the importance of building a solid team to achieve our long-term goals for the DAO. Mooncake, one of the most active members in our community, joined the Tempo DAO team and will be working with us full-time. We are also setting up internal processes to continue to improve efficiency. Our focus is to work on strategic partnerships and market the vision of Tempo DAO.

Game Update: BOO, Tempo Mini-Games, and Project Lazarus

The team is making great progress on all three games. Enigma showed sneak peeks of our first ever mini-game, Coin Flip, and our Tekken-style fighting game, Battle of Olympus (BOO).We’ve attached screenshots for both in case you missed them. Please note that the BOO alpha is not out yet and there will be some significant improvements to the UI.

With regards to Project Lazarus, we’ve officially started development and we’ve also hired a game director who will be working on building our community’s vision for the MMORPG.

OHM liquidation event and how Tempo V2 can address this

Olympus DAO and its forks witnessed a bloodbath with sharp falls of over 30–40% in 24 hours. This was triggered by a liquidation event on one of the pools, as reported by Coindesk.

We would like to reiterate our stance on why APY-based projects cannot be sustained long term. Tempo V2 token is an ideal solution for this issue. The tax system incentivizes long-term holders by sharing 50% of the tax with them, helps us build the treasury, and reduces selling pressure. Our goal is to become a utility-driven token that rewards long-term holders who believe in our vision.

Partnerships on the way

We are working on a lot of partnerships with organizations that see value in our vision. We hope to provide more updates about this shortly. We plan to have joint AMAs and cross-community events to drive mutual growth to benefit both communities.

AMA Questions

How will the token swap to V2 take place?

The process of migrating to V2 is fairly simple and you will have a swap interface. We are working on a detailed Medium article that will be published prior to the launch.

How much will the APY be?

The APY for V2 is not yet decided. Do keep in mind our primary goal is to move away from the APY rebase model and focus on token utility. We understand this is an important factor for the community and we will put this to a vote.

Will there be a treasury committee for investments?

We have a market research team that researches promising projects. We also have an external advisor with a great network and connection with other projects. This helps us in selecting projects for investment. We do not intend to invest more funds into projects at this time and would like to spend the treasury on building games, marketing, and partnerships.

As a DAO with a structured voting system, we believe the community is the treasury committee. As a TEMPO holder, you have the ability to decide on the direction of our funds and the project in general.

Why are you not considering developing a shooting game?

Shooting games can be easily botted which makes the game unfair to actual users. The focus is to build a fair game that provides good gameplay and a viable reward system.
